Leons Drum Kit gets an Ultra Mobile PC

Leon setting up RAM mount system on his drum kit

As some of my readers may know I have a nine year old boy who is an absolute geek and has been since he was little. He and I have geeked around at the local carwash, at his school and he even launched a Tablet PC training video when he was only 4yrs old! As he is growing-up however his wants are changing and so are his interests. While still an absolute geek he is also a musician, i.e. percussionist in his local school band. Recently we bought a brand new Pearl drum kit for him to use at home and it is awesome to listen to and watch him practice.

Leon and his mate Ian configure the baby Fujitsu (U1010 aka U810)

Over the years I’ve talked about many Tablet usage case studies but on this occasion I have a “really cool” one! So with Tablets to spare in our home (at last count a year ago there are over thirty tablets at our fingertips) I ordered a set of RAM mounts and installed a new Fujitsu U1010 (aka U810) onto his drum kit! With this he can now surf YouTube for Drum lessons, download music and listen along using his Panasonic headset. The reason I chose the U1010 is that it has no use for me (just too slow) and yet is a perfect size and shape, with its touchscreen and incorporated keyboard, and sits nicely on the drum kit and is transformed into an incredible learning tool!

Geek heaven!!!

24 hours with a P1610 Tablet PC

Need I say more

Rob Bushway, of Team GottaBe, has done a thorough job of the new Fujitsu P1610. Since pricing was released last night for the device in Australia (and orders have already been taken) then I thought it only apropriate to let you all see the video (Ink Show as they call it). Well done Rob.

From Rob:

Well, it has been 24 hours since I received the Fujitsu P1610 Tablet PC, and I have to say Im very, very pleased with it.
Im working on an InkShow that should be up sometime this weekend, so Im hoping this article will answer a few questions folks have until I can get that video shot. For a quick "First Looks" at the P1610, take a look at
this InkShow I shot last week while at Mobile Connections. That InkShow and this article should keep you satisified for just a little while. By the way, all the pictures on this article can be clicked to view the larger image.

TabletKiosk eo i7210 UltraMobile PC InkShow!

GottaBeMobile has GottaBeCommended for another fantastic InkShow! This time Mr. Dennis Rice, and his cinematographer wife, take to VLOGGING duties for the team. What I like most about these events is the shear anticipation and excitement in the air.

The irony for me is that my EO i7210 sat in my office for the last week untouched. I had to travel interstate and I was unable to even open the box until AFTER watching this GottaBe InkShow.

Sit back, grab some pop corn and enjoy this Unboxing event by Dennis Rice.

The TabletKiosk eo i7210 Ultra-Mobile PC!

Yes — its arrived, and caught me quite unready to do my job as trusty scoop reporter at
GottaBeMobile.com. My video camera was out for repair, so a quick IM message to my neighbor Eddie Vanderbeck to borrow a camera solved that (nice to have tecchie neighbors). Then I needed a cameraman, but what I got was a camera”woman”! My poor wife got roped into using technology, which by the way is typically left up to me in this household (or maybe I just never let any of the others get a chance, not sure which!), and ran the camera for me in a hastily planned production! I had clients call needing work, but after all, priorities are priorities, so of course, I stopped everything and did the show!

This is just the first in a series of InkShows I planning with this unit, but I wanted to quickly
